Big news, everyone! I’m publishing my first ever collection
Let me set the scene for you:
It’s February 2022, and I’ve just dipped my toes back into writing fiction after an incredibly long hiatus. I have a tendency to get really hyper-focused on a project, so it followed naturally that I found myself on Medium, Wattpad and other writing websites. They were full of challenges and new writers to befriend.
I came across a challenge started by Zane Dickens on Medium called ‘The 100 Story Challenge’. The premise was simple—write a hundred fiction pieces in one hundred days. Participants were free to come and go as they pleased, take breaks, and set the rules for themselves. It wasn’t a contest, just a challenge to write more regularly.
Liking the sound of it so far, Zane. Let’s make things more interesting, shall we?
Tell one hundred stories in one hundred days, using exactly one hundred words per story.
Ah, yes, now that sounds like a challenge that will infuriate me and make me question my sanity.
